Popular Weight Loss Trends Predicted For 2018
2017 is a thing of the past, and the best diet trend was probiotics, the worst whole grain diets, according to the famous Dr. Oz. Predictions for the best diet trends in 2018 are varied, and in a couple of surveys by dieticians and health practitioners, the winning patterns are:
- AFRICAN MANGO EXTRACT (or IG EXTRACT)
These supplements are gaining popularity to assist in weight loss and belly fat loss. Studies show that the ingredients in African Mango can reduce belly fat by lowering cholesterol and removing fat from the system. Taken an hour before meals, IG extract supplements will suppress the appetite and help control blood sugar levels to prevent feelings of hunger.
- GLUTEN AND WHEAT FREE
These diets will continue their popularity in 2018 with the Paleo diet and “Wheat Belly” diet falling into this category.
- ANCIENT GRAINS
Ancient grains used in the diet, such as quinoa, were also favorite in 2017 and are continuing to be a trend.
- HEALTHY FATS
Substituting saturated fats with healthy unsaturated fats such as coconut oil and chia seeds in the diet has proved to be beneficial for weight loss and is predicted as a winning trend in 2018.
Including kale in the diet for weight loss continues to gain popularity among dieters. CBS News takes a different perspective on predictions for diet trends in 2018. With two-thirds of American audiences in the overweight to obese categories, here are some different ways to diet in 2018.
- ONE ONE ONE DIET
Dieters are encouraged to refrain from counting calories and measuring carbohydrates, but instead create meals that contain one of each food category on your plate, i.e., one carbohydrate, one protein and one unsaturated fat.
- VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN DIETS
Plant-based diets and cleanses are helpful for healthy weight loss, and abstinence from flesh foods aids weight loss, although these menus make it difficult to maintain required protein intake.
- INTERMITTENT FASTING
This diet prescribes to weight loss by alternating semi-fasting with feasting – not recommended by most health professionals.
- DOCTOR’S DIET
TV shows influence diet trends, and on Doctor’s Diet, you can get a prescription to jump-start your weight loss from the host on “The Doctors” show on TV.
- PALEO DIET
Extremely popular in 2017, the Paleo Diet is again predicted to do well in 2018 as a weight loss diet.
- FAITH-BASED DIET
“The Daniel Plan” is a faith-based diet combined with practical advice on exercise and nutrition. Whichever diet trend appeals to you, take care to always consult your health professional before starting a diet regime.
Your health professional will tell you whether a diet may be contraindicated for you because of an ailment or medications that you are taking, and also monitor any side effects or reactions that may occur.
